Katie
I grew up in North Carolina, born and raised a country girl at heart, before enlisting in the Air Force when I was 17 years old and serving 11 years active duty. I’ve been thankful to call many parts of this world my home, but I now live right outside of Tampa in the Florida sunshine with golden doodle baby, Nala. I grew up playing sports in high school, but never really understood how to “be healthy”. I was the girl who was always self conscious, felt like I couldn’t just “be skinny” like the other girls I was around, and really struggled with my goal to join the military because I was told to drop 20 lbs before I could start the process.
After joining, I went through the constant yo-yo of losing much weight, gaining it back, competing in bodybuilding competitions (yep, the fake tans with the heels and everything!). After several years of frustration, I realized I was missing one KEY. I wasn't making healthy habits a lifestyle, I was just trying to cut corners to speed up the process. Once I made this habit change consistently..I dropped over 65 lbs, physically saw my progress skyrocket, and improved my mental health- it FINALLY happened! After helping myself on my own journey, I realized I could help others do the same too..And this is when I created Team Kay Fitness!
